Methodology

QuietBuild does not publish invented STC/Rw improvements. Performance depends on flanking paths, workmanship, and building structure. We focus on physics-backed patterns and step order.

What we do

  1. Identify the dominant noise type (airborne vs impact vs low-frequency).
  2. Find flanking paths (vents, gaps, floors, shared framing).
  3. Use the sequence: seal → decouple → add mass → manage absorption.
  4. Preserve ventilation and fire safety.

What we refuse

  • No fake decibel claims.
  • No advice that blocks required ventilation.
  • No hidden electrical/gas instructions.
